On 21 May, the day after the conference, we offer our traditional one-day excursion to visit interesting wind-related locations.

“Dynamic Nacelle Testing Laboratory” of Fraunhofer IWES in Bremerhaven

From April 2015 Germany’s first test rig in Bremerhaven – the Dynamic Nacelle Testing Laboratory (DyNaLab) of the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES) – is testing, evaluating and optimizing wind turbine nacelles with a capacity of up to 8 megawatts. DyNaLab accelerates the innovation as well as development time for prototypes considerably.

  • Prime mover: 10 MW Twin Direct Drive (15 MW overload capability up to 6 minutes)
